AI and agents

Agents propose. People decide.

The AI reads your records and drafts. The agents watch your records and suggest. Neither sends, prices or changes anything without a person.

What the AI does

Four jobs, on records you already keep.

  • Next-best-action copilot

Suggests the next step on an enquiry or buyer. A checker strikes out anything your records do not back up.

  • Daily briefing

A short morning summary, from your own records only.

  • Document Q&A

Ask in plain English. Answers come only from records that person may open.

  • Drafts for a person to confirm

Rules, accounting entries, details read off a supplier bill or payment advice, and message drafts.

What always waits for a person

Four lines no AI feature or agent crosses.

  • Drafts, never sends. Sending is a person's tap.
  • Suggests, never prices. Rates come from your quote rules. Below margin needs approval.
  • Proposes, never edits. A person accepts or dismisses each agent suggestion.
  • Confirms before it books. A drafted entry or a read bill stays a draft until someone confirms it.

Ask Claude about your Tally books

A read-only connector (MCP) lets you ask Claude plain-English questions about your Tally books. It cannot post, change or delete an entry. See integrations.

What it needs

An AI provider key in your business's name. The AI sees only what the signed-in person may see, under the same 8 roles and 118 permissions. See security.

What it does not do

  • It does not send anything to a customer, supplier or agent by itself.
  • It does not set rates or approve a quote below margin.
  • It does not change records, post entries or move stock on its own.
  • It does not write to Tally.

Questions

Can the AI send a message to a customer on its own?

No. Messages and replies are drafts. A person reads, edits if needed, and sends.

Are the agents AI?

No. Each agent is a rule: when a set condition in your records is met, it suggests something. The AI features are separate, on your own AI provider key.

Can a salesperson use document Q&A to see purchase rates?

Only if their role already opens those records. Q&A follows the same roles and permissions as the rest of Ordence.
