Ordence vs Vyapar.

Vyapar is a GST billing and stock app for small shops, run from the owner's phone, with a free mobile plan and a counter screen. Ordence has neither. It is for a team handling enquiries, stock and dispatch, where the hard work starts after the bill.

Last reviewed 14 October 2026. Vyapar's platforms, plans and features were checked on Vyapar's home page and its batch and serial guide on 14 October 2026. They change; check there before you rely on them. Vyapar and Tally are trademarks of their owners. Ordence is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by either; they are named only to compare.

Who Vyapar is for

A shop owner billing from a phone, often offline.

Vyapar serves grocery, cloth and mobile shops, pharmacies, salons and restaurants. It runs on Android, iOS, Windows and Mac, bills offline and syncs later, and has a POS (point-of-sale) screen for counter sales.

Its site says the mobile app has a lifetime free plan with basic features, and the desktop app a free trial; paid plans add more. Check Vyapar's own pricing page, as other listings disagree.

What Vyapar does well

Five ways Vyapar is ahead of Ordence.

  • Start today, free. Install it and bill within the hour. Ordence is by invitation.
  • A counter. Barcode billing at a POS screen. Ordence has none.
  • Offline billing. Bills keep going when the internet drops.
  • An online store. A shareable catalogue link. Ordence offers nothing for consumers.
  • Batches, expiry and serial numbers. A premium feature, with expiry dates on the invoice.

The shape of the business decides it

Count the people, not the invoices.

Vyapar fits a business where one or two people do everything. Ordence fits one where the invoice is the last step of shared work: sales quotes and chases a sample approval, the godown finds the reel, dispatch checks the lot, accounts collect. When that lives in WhatsApp groups and memory, a better billing app cannot fix it.

If one person touches an order before it is billed, stay with a billing app.

Where Ordence differs

Shown for the roll and batch trading pack, live at a stamping foil trader.

  • Enquiries with an owner. IndiaMART, JustDial and Dial4Trade enquiries flow in, a shared WhatsApp inbox replaces the group chat, and an untouched enquiry alerts its owner after 60 minutes by default (30 at the foil trader).
  • A login per role. Eight roles, 118 permissions. The godown sees stock, not margins; sales cannot change a price floor.
  • Stock by the reel. Barcoded by shade, width and rack. Slitting plans keep trim low; landed cost per m² passes to cut reels.
  • Dispatch that checks itself. A scan gate blocks a mixed or unapproved lot. A photo and signature prove delivery.
  • Books, with Tally optional. Ordence keeps its own books and runs alongside Tally for the CA.

Moving from Vyapar

Usually a business that outgrew one desk.

  1. Keep Vyapar if the counter stays

The shop counter can stay on Vyapar. Ordence takes trade sales by reel, roll or lot.

  2. Bring parties and items across

Parties, items and closing stock come in from a spreadsheet of Vyapar's reports. Opening stock is accepted only once it balances.

  3. Start the sales pipeline fresh

Open enquiries and quotes go in as live enquiries with an owner, not as history.

  4. Set a switch-off date

One month side by side at most. See the migration checklist.

Questions

Counters, a free version, and batches.

We bill from a shop counter. Should we look at Ordence?

Probably not. Ordence has no point-of-sale screen; Vyapar will serve a counter better.

Is there a free version of Ordence?

No, and no self-serve signup. Each system is set up after a fit call, and terms are shared privately. To start free today, use Vyapar's mobile plan.

Vyapar tracks batches too. Why would a roll trader need more?

A batch number tells you the lot. A roll trader also needs each reel's width and rack, slitting waste in rupees, landed cost per m² on cut reels, and a dispatch gate that blocks an unapproved shade.

Show us what happens after the bill is printed.

The follow-up calls, the stock sheet, the dispatch WhatsApp group. Describe it in your application. We will say whether Ordence fits or Vyapar plus a notebook is enough. A founder reads every one. Alternatives are scored on the compare page.
